About Leah
My fascination with stained glass began midway through my life. I was raised by parents who instilled in my siblings and me a deep respect for art, craftsmanship, and compassion. Their mantra was always: “If you’re going to do something, do it right.” That philosophy guided me through a long and fulfilling career as a registered nurse, where compassion was at the heart of my work.
But alongside my nursing career, I always felt a need to create. When my daughter was a toddler, I taught myself English smocking so I could make beautiful dresses for her. That passion grew into a cottage business, and before long I was selling clothing and adornments at juried art fairs across the country, as well as in shops in the New Orleans French Quarter and St. Louis’ Union Station.
Looking for a new artistic challenge, I signed up with a friend for a four-evening stained glass course at a local art center. I was instantly captivated. What began with a simple three-piece sun catcher soon grew into large windows for my home and meaningful gifts for loved ones.
A career advancement and a move put my stained glass on pause for nearly 18 years. But when my work-life balance shifted back toward the life side, I returned to my glass with fresh energy. I updated my tools, bought new glass, and began again—starting with an online auction to benefit Hospice. That first auction has since become a cherished annual tradition.
Please take a look around this site to see some of my work. Most pieces are custom creations, each carrying a story meaningful to its recipient—and therefore, to me.
I would be honored to capture a special moment in glass for you as well.
“From start to finish, working with Leah was so amazing. The custom stained glass piece we ordered was perfect and beyond what we could have imagined.”
